Batik Art Class
3 Hour Batik Class
Experience the art of Batik to create your unique and very personal batik art. We will explain and help through the whole process. No art experience necessary.
You will learn the ancient technique of using a traditional tool for applying the hot wax onto the fabric, we call it “Canting”.
You can make your own design or we have many stencils you can choose. Once the design is drawn out into the cloth it is then ready to be waxed. Wax is applied to the cloth over the areas of the design. Before you do on the original one, we will give extra cloth for practice waxed.
After wax has been applied, you will do colouring on your batik fabric with the dye. We have 17 different colours that you can use. When the dyes are set, the batik is boiled to remove the wax. After the boil, the piece is washed in clear water, then dried to reveal the beauty and or iginality of the batik.
Be creative with no pressure included and it’s going to be really fun and the result of your batik masterpiece to take home with you.

Not only is it a truly memorable and inspiring experience – it’s convenient too. You’ll learn the traditional art for musing organic dyes and hot wax. We supply Includes all the materials you need to make your own original batik. The class is held in a casual but comfortable studio in the family home compound. You can do everything stage of the process yourself under our guidance.

Working with clay is mesmerising – and challenging.
Firstly we do a tour of the studio, guests will don aprons and sit down guests can do two techniques THROW and HAND BUILD up to 3 pieces. We work with each person to insure that you make at least 1 or 2 beautiful vessels. If you decide that you want to finish your pieces, there are 4 more steps: trimming, bisquing, glaze and high-firing. The process takes about a month, and the potters at our studio will do this work for you for a free. This price includes a glazing, you may select your colours and we’ll glaze for you. After that, we can ship your pottery anywhere really.
THIS POTTERY WORKSHOPS ARE UP TO 10 PEOPLE
Clay is a magical material. Every student is different, and everyone receives individual instruction. You can make ANYTHING that you’d like, and our guidance will give you lots of ideas. Your only limitation is your imagination!
This is a unique hand built pottery and wheel throwing experience! No experience required! We can do up to 10 people per session!
The experience is a 3 hour session, 1,5 hours for each technique where you and your group each throw 2.5 kg of clay. Once you’ve created a bowl, mug, or succulent pot, or whatever you want really, and you will get 3 pieces of finished art that you created 1 piece of your art can be painted, you pick a colour, we trim, and glaze it!
